Art is one of the six primary article categories of the Encyclopedia Mysenvaria.
There is no concrete definition of what art is; it encompasses a wide range of forms. Art is made by sophonts using imagination and creativity and with purpose and intelligence. An artistic piece, work of art, or artwork, is a broad term used to describe a tangible artistic thing—a creation of aesthetic value. Be it a plate of food, the plate itself, a theatrical play, or a song. The art made by an individual is changed by their experiences and reflects their culture, itself formed by the history and geography of the Plane.
Art is commonly divided into two categories: useful arts and fine arts. The former is composed of all works which would generally be considered necessary to life and society; clothing, housing, utensils, crockery, literature, and food are some forms of useful art. The latter is composed of all works which are made for pleasure and appeal; paintings, sculptures, music, performances, and architecture.
