This article is part of a series on the Encyclopedia’s Writing Guidelines.

This article serves to provide a list of meta callouts that a reader may encounter on articles. Callouts include a short description of what they indicate, and this description is provided on each individual page which the callout appears on.

Callouts work as important tools for communicating (often metatextual) information about an article that readers are preparing to read. Often these callouts are educating a reader on the context of the article’s progress. This allows readers and editors to decide what pages they want to invest their time into.

Further information regarding a callout may be provided in the sections below if it is deemed necessary or is not elaborated on elsewhere amongst the meta pages.

Miscellaneous

Names

Some names in this article are placeholders! Until the setting’s history is developed further—allowing for languages and the likes to be constructed accurately—temporary names are used for places, people, and things.

These placeholder names may resemble real people, be simple descriptions, or even appear as random jumbles of letters or numbers.

The intent is to keep track of these placeholders so that they may be replaced in the future. If you find a name which looks out of place, report it through a GitHub issue!

The Encyclopedia Mysenvaria is best described as being in its infancy at the moment, and as such some portions of the lore are underdeveloped. Conlangs, especially names, are an important part of immersion into a setting. It’s important that readers be made aware that certain names throughout the Encyclopedia are placeholders.

These callouts should be included on any pages where a placeholder name is used or mentioned. That includes the biographies of peoples with placeholder names, or events, foods, and games with placeholder names. That also includes pages which otherwise make mention or link to pages which have placeholder names.

Addenda

type: addenda

This article is or has an addendum. Visit addenda pages by adding Meta/ to the start of an article’s URL path. E.G. ragno.studio/Encyclopedia-Mysenvaria becomes ragno.studio/Meta/Encyclopedia-Mysenvaria.

Addenda are non-canon companion articles written to provide context, behind-the-scene commentary, spoilers, and guidance on adaptation for creative use—like providing TTRPG stat blocks, explaining character portrayal, or giving ideas on story application. Addenda may also be used for meta discussion regarding topics, if the main article is not fitting.
