Solstice occur as the Harmonic Treaty passes over a portion of the Plane at its furthest or closest point. This occurs for each point across the Harmony Line twice a year, as the summer solstice (at its closest) and winter solstice (at its furthest). These times have been historically celebrated by agriculturally dependent societies as they symbolize the start and end of the harvest.
