This article is part of a series of meta articles explaining what the Encyclopedia Mysenvaria is, how to use it, and how to contribute.
Disclaimer
When contributing please note that I, Ragno, retain sole ownership of the Encyclopedia Mysenvaria and reserve the right to monetize it.
By submitting or contributing content you grant the Encyclopedia Mysenvaria a perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, and irrevocable license to use, publish, edit, adapt, and commercialize your contribution as part of the project. You retain ownership of your contribution, but acknowledge that once integrated it becomes a permanent part of the project and may be redistributed under the project’s open license terms (CC BY-NC-SA 4.0).
For more information see the Contribution Guidelines on GitHub
Warning
Although the Encyclopedia Mysenvaria website will not be monetized, future plans for the project outside of the website may include monetization!
By contributing, you acknowledge that any submitted content may be integrated into commercial releases of the project without requirement for further permission or royalties.
Info
Contributors may request to have their name, and a link to a social page of their choosing, added to the Contributors page. The contributors page is linked at the footer of the website, accessible from all pages.
If you’ve contributed to the Encyclopedia Mysenvaria and wish to be listed, please open a new GitHub Issue with proof of your prior contribution. Being added to the Contributors page is not automatic and must be requested manually.
By virtue of the way the Encyclopedia is built it is very easy to contribute to the project—but before you do, there are a few things to understand!
- While Quartz (code) is open-source under the MIT license, the content of the Encyclopedia Mysenvaria is protected under a non-commercial open license. For more please read the project’s license.
- Failure to comply with the Code of Conduct may result in your contribution privileges being restricted or removed.
- The Encyclopedia Mysenvaria is a personal project and part of a much larger vision. I am not looking for major writing contributions.
- Moderators have final authority over all contributions and decisions. The most helpful contributions are the most minor ones, like grammar fixes and topical discussions! You may also contribute to addenda to make the Encyclopedia easier to use for creatives! Creative additions are not off-limits, but they are reviewed under significantly more scrutiny so as to maintain the overarching themes, ideas, and lore that has been constructed for the setting.
Contribution and Submission Policy
This policy applies to all content (found in the ‘content/’ folder of the repository) and code (everything else) submitted to the Project through GitHub or other platforms.
By contributing to the Project, you agree that:
- Your contribution is your own original work and/or you have the legal right to submit under the applicable license.
- You retain copyright ownership while granting the Project a perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free license to use, modify, adapt, or omit your submission at its sole discretion.
- Submission does not guarantee inclusion. Contributions may be edited or removed without notice.
- Submissions classified as content are licensed under CC BY-NC-SA 4.0.
- Submissions classified as code are licensed under MIT.

Contribution Methods
Contributing comes in many forms, depending on what you’re looking for! Here I label them all:
- Contribution via Discussion! This form of contribution does not visibly change the Encyclopedia, but it does add content! Joining the discord (even to lurk!), logging into GitHub to discuss articles in comments, or voicing your opinion on direct contribution comment sections are all ways to meaningfully contribute via discussion!
- Every page has a comment section, powered by giscus, which every user can freely talk in! Giscus uses GitHub discussions, which you can also use instead of giscus, if you would like!
- The Discord is another great place to strike up a discussion regarding the Encyclopedia! Though it is not directly connected to the Encyclopedia Mysenvaria in the same way GitHub discussions is.
- Direct Contribution! This is contribution which visibly impacts the Encyclopedia, it comes in the form of directly adding text, image, or video content to the Encyclopedia. This is the most intensive form of contribution, but also the most heavily scrutinized. While direct contributions are appreciated, to maintain the standards of the Encyclopedia they are combed through thoroughly!
- GitHub pull requests are complex, but allow you to directly suggest changes, additions, or deletions across the Encyclopedia and its backend.
- GitHub Issues are easy to make, and a great way to suggest edits across the Encyclopedia. These work best for pointing out minor mistakes, like grammatical errors and lore inconsistencies.
