The First Death, recorded in Death’s Star, published on the 26th of Spring 177 BT, is the earliest recorded instance of a God dying and marks the start of the God-War. The First Death was caused by and followed the Quickening, which saw a rapid increase in the number of Gods across the Plane. Death’s Star would expand into Death’s System following the event, as rushed Gods panicked to record their thoughts on the event.

Many of the stars published at this time, especially those in Death’s System, would fall back to the Plane as their authors passed away. While a few of these stars would be found and republished by other Gods many more have been lost to history.

Prelude & Aftermath

The Quickening, a result of domain subdivision, would see a rapid and unsustainable increase in the number of Gods. Overlapping metaphysical domains and physical territories would culminate in a confrontation between two unnamed lesser-Gods, becoming the First Death. Previously ignorant of their own mortality, the event triggered an epiphany among the Gods, beginning the God-War with the start of the Dying Period.

The First Convening would be organized by the God of Fulgurite in the following year. The First Convening, while responsible for many things, is most notable for it’s responsibility in the development of religion by the God of Chromodynamic Energy, which would go on to be a major factor in the war and the rest of history.
